Under the direction of Kyle Pennell, Pulse Youth Ministry’s purpose is to raise up young people to be effective Christians in their world today and the future. Pulse meets every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM in the youth center located in the out building south of the LVC main building. The youth center will be open at 6:00 PM until 9:15 PM so that the youth can come early and stay late for some “hang time” during which they can play games such as pool, air hockey, foosball, basketball, and ping pong. We also have a café that serves snacks and pizza at reasonable prices. Pulse is for youth from 7th grade to 12th grade.

Kyle and the youth leaders are committed to building relationships with the youth by spending time with them on their turf. We eat lunch with the youth at the school cafeteria weekly and have recently instituted prayer time at Vassar Schools on Tuesdays during homeroom for high school students, and Wednesday during homeroom for junior high students. We also attend the youth sporting events, plays, music concerts, etc. on a regular basis displaying to the youth that we are genuinely interested in their day-to-day lives not just at youth service.

At Pulse we believe in the young people and are focused on their potential to grow in the Lord and be influencers in a mighty and powerful way among their peers and families. We understand that walking through these teen years is no cakewalk and that the challenges and pressures that they face are a force to be reckoned with. But we believe that God has given them the power to be overcomers if they will choose to follow Jesus with an uncompromising passion. He will cause them to triumph in these teen years and to bring others along with them to victory.
